Alexander Wang

Parsons dropout Alexander Wang was only 22 when he first launched ‘his ready-to-wear collection in 2007. His edgy yet sophisticated off-duty model looks resonates with his belief that, “Anyone can get all dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their off days, that are the most intriguing.”

A year after his first full collection, Alexander won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2008 with $200,000 of cash. Other awards under his belt include Swarovski Women’s Wear Designer of the Year, Swiss Textiles Award in 2009, Swarovski Women’s Wear Designer of the Year in the accessory category in 2010 for the second time and the GQ/CDFA menswear award.

Five years after his debut, he launched the diffusion line – T by Alexander Wang. His lines are now recognized globally and are stocked in the world’s premiere retailers such as Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Selfridges. Despite his success, Alexander Wang remains humble, honest and down-to-earth.

Looking to expand into the Asia Pacific market, Alexander will be one of the three designers that will be featured in Project Runaway this year. The collection that he will be showcasing is his Spring/Summer 2012 line. As one of the most promising young fashion designers today, we have every confidence that his labels will rival even that of established luxury brands in the industry.
